About Course

Young paleontologists and artists will examine a featured dino or other ancient creature in order to observe its unique qualities. We will complete a guided drawing together, add details, then share our creations plus other student artwork.

What Will You Learn?

  • Define key takeaways from this class.
  • Students will learn to identify basic shapes and features of selected dinosaurs. Students will learn techniques for recreating those dinosaurs on paper through guided instruction. Students will learn introductory facts about the featured dinosaurs, and will practice observation skills as we examine those dinosaurs for their main features and shapes. Students will practice following directions, asking questions, and presentation skills.

Junior Creators: Prehistoric Dinosaur Drawing Lab (Art Geology Paleontology) Curriculum title
Curriculum description Calling all dino-loving artists! In this class, we’ll draw dinosaurs together while learning fun, easy techniques to break them down into simple shapes. By recognizing the key features of each dinosaur, students will build confidence in their drawing skills and develop the ability to sketch any dinosaur they find! This is a beginner-friendly drawing class where students of all skill levels are welcome. Our goal is to foster a love of drawing and creativity while encouraging each student to observe closely, explore their imagination, and add their own unique flair to their artwork. Each week, we’ll learn a little about our featured dinosaur, sketch it together with guided steps, and have time to personalize our creations. At the end of class, students will be invited (but never required!) to share their drawings and chat about their other artistic projects. Beyond just drawing, this class also helps young learners practice key skills, including: ✅ Observational skills ✅ Shape recognition ✅ Fine motor skills ✅ Following directions ✅ Asking questions & participating in discussions 🦕 Want even more dino fun?
